Boris is the head of the firm's Corporate M&A practice. He covers the full range of Russian corporate matters, private equity and cross-border M&A transactions in the wide range of industries, focusing on the transactions in the natural resources, mining, telecommunications, media, agribusiness, retail and information technology, both in Russia and internationally.
Boris started his legal career in a Russian metals major supervising the international disputes of the entire group. He further expanded on corporate disputes and M&A and practiced for many years within international law firms Baker McKenzie, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Hogan Lovells. Since 2010 and before joining Tomashevskaya & Partners Boris headed the Corporate M&A and Dispute Resolution practices at the Moscow office of Gide Loyrette Nouel, an international law firm headquartered in Paris.
Boris graduated from the Lomonosov Moscow State University (with high honours) and holds a doctoral degree in Corporate law from the same university. He also holds the LLM degree in International Economic law from the University of Warwick (UK) and the MSc degree from the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute.
Whilst his practice is focused on M&A and private equity, he also advises clients on various issues of corporate disputes and dispute resolutions. Boris is listed in The Best Lawyers in Russia in 2015 - 2019 Editions in Corporate Law and is recommended by Legal 500.
His dispute resolution practice includes representing clients in various commercial disputes both in the pre-trial stages of proceedings and in courts, including disputes with governmental authorities and private counterparties, on debt recovery, corporate, high profile employment issues and the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards in Russia, assisting the clients on various issues arising in relation to insolvency procedures. Boris is the listed arbitrator of the AEB (Association of the European Business) Arbitration Court, the Arbitration Court of the Franco - Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and of the Arbitration Court of the Russian Arbitration Association.
